Imagine this: you snap a photo with your Samsung phone, open the Gallery — and the image lands straight in Google Photos if you want it to. That exact bridge is what the Korean tech giant is currently building into its pre-installed Gallery app.
According to GameStar, photos and videos from the Samsung Gallery can in future optionally go directly to Google Photos. This turns the Samsung Gallery into a direct gateway into Google's photo service.
What this means for you
If you already use Google Photos on your Samsung phone, you'll no longer need to manually move your photos and videos over there. The Samsung Gallery will send them off directly on request — with no detour via a PC or separate backup tools.
What remains unclear
Exactly when the update will be rolled out, which Samsung devices will receive it, and whether the Google Photos integration will be set as the default or first has to be activated in the settings — none of that is clear from the report so far. As soon as more details are available, you'll find them here.
You can find more details in the report at GameStar.
