Best Smartphone 2026: Oppo Beats Samsung and Apple in Test

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Best Smartphone 2026: Oppo Beats Samsung and Apple in Test.

Heise online has put the most important smartphones for 2026 under the microscope – and the best-of list holds a surprise: Not Samsung, not Apple, but Oppo sits at the very top.

The tech magazine rigorously tested current top models in its top-10 best-of list. The result: According to Heise, Oppo has placed itself "surprisingly" at the top – ahead of the industry giants Samsung and Apple. The fact that the list is titled precisely "Oppo bleibt Testsieger" (Oppo remains test winner) shows: The Chinese company has defended its top position from the previous year.

Exactly what was tested, which models made it into the top 10, and where Oppo outclasses the competition – you can read all of that in the detailed best-of list at Heise online.

Why the Oppo win is remarkable

The fact that Heise itself speaks of a "surprising" decision says quite a bit about the expectations. Usually, Samsung (Galaxy lineup) and Apple (iPhone) occupy the top spots in independent comparison tests. That Oppo has barged in between them – and not for the first time – is the exception, not the rule.

What the news means for you: The pecking order in the 2026 smartphone market is no longer set in stone. If you're planning to buy a new device soon, it's worth looking beyond the usual suspects. Exactly which Oppo models impressed, how they performed in detail, and what they cost – the full best-of list at Heise online reveals all.

What sticks with you

With its best-of list, Heise delivers a compact orientation for everyone looking for a new smartphone in 2026. The core message: Those who only have Samsung and Apple on their radar are potentially leaving the best device of the year on the shelf.
