Edgerunners Season 2: What Netflix and CDPR Have Revealed So Far

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Edgerunners Season 2: What Netflix and CDPR Have Revealed So Far.

You followed the first season of "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" back in 2022 — or only discovered it later? The Spanish gaming journalist on whose special this overview is based admits openly: When the animated series was announced back then, he was skeptical.

That skepticism has faded. Today, "Edgerunners" ranks among the animated series that have surprised him most in recent years — because of "its extremely high quality," as he writes. He has watched the season multiple times. The reference to CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the game universe of the same name, appears in the article for good reason: the studio is also driving the sequel.

One of the animated series that have surprised me most in recent years — because of its extremely high quality.

What's confirmed for Season 2 so far

A second season is coming. This is evident from the title of the current Nintenderos special, which consolidates the state of knowledge about the sequel at Netflix. Netflix remains the home port of the series, with CD Projekt Red providing the creative source material.

What (still) remains open

The special does not name a release date. The article is also tight-lipped about the story, the cast, or the episode count. Anyone waiting for a concrete release will have to be patient for now.

Why you can feel cautiously excited this time

The Nintenderos author is the best example: from skeptic to fan in a single season. That's not proof that Part 2 will be equally strong — but it's an indication that CD Projekt Red can deliver with this format. Anyone who has never started can find Season 1 in the Netflix catalog. For those already fans: update your watchlist and wait.
