Fortnite servers down on October 15, 2026: All info on Update 42.40 in live ticker

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Fortnite servers down on October 15, 2026: All info on Update 42.40 in live ticker.

You were about to start a round of Fortnite and nothing works? No wonder: On October 15, 2026, Epic Games is taking the servers offline for a planned patch. The trigger is Update 42.40, which is being tracked in separate live tickers by Gamepro and MeinMMO.

If you're staring at the start screen right now and the app refuses to launch, you're not alone. The servers aren't responding because Epic is rolling out the new version in the background. Exactly during this phase, the tickers at the two editorial teams are running hot — including server status, duration, and first leaks.

Why exactly the servers are down today

According to MeinMMO, the Fortnite servers are going offline on October 15, 2026 as scheduled. Gamepro refers to the same situation as a server downtime that the editorial team is covering live. Both sources point to Update 42.40 as the trigger — but neither source specifies a concrete time or an expected duration of the outage.

What Update 42.40 could bring

Both editorial teams are staying quiet about the exact contents of 42.40 — logical, as long as the servers are still offline. What's clear: as soon as the new files have been pushed and first leaks trickle out, the info flows straight into the running tickers. Gamepro promises to provide players "as quickly as possible with all leaks and info," while MeinMMO delivers duration, leaks, and everything else about the new version in parallel.

Where to follow the live ticker

If you don't want to wait until the app works again on its own, your best bet is to head straight to the running tickers. Gamepro has set up its own live ticker on the server situation and Update 42.40, while MeinMMO provides its own version focused on duration and leak info. Both sources update continuously — so you'll see in real time when the servers are reachable again and what changes the update brings.

What you can do right now

As long as the servers are down, you basically have three options: First, wait it out and have some tea. Second, keep an eye on one of the live tickers — then you'll know right away as soon as Epic ends the maintenance. Third, use the waiting time for something else that works offline. Exactly when you can drop again depends on how long the patch takes — and you'll find that out first in the running tickers at Gamepro and MeinMMO.
