RTL brings the wand back to free TV: In 2026, the annual Harry Potter Marathon is airing – and this time, according to Gamepro, you'll get to see all eight films. Anyone wanting to gear up for the new HBO series gets the ideal preparation.

According to Gamepro, the HBO adaptation will start only a short time after the broadcast dates. That makes the marathon more than a nostalgic must-watch – it's the direct countdown to the series premiere.

What's confirmed so far

Gamepro reports clearly: RTL is taking over the annual Harry Potter Marathon in 2026 and showing all eight installments on free TV. That makes the event not a one-off special, but the continuation of a recurring tradition.

Why the marathon is coming right now

The timing is no coincidence. Gamepro writes that the HBO series will start only a short time after the RTL broadcast dates. For you, that means: You can watch the complete film series in one go and be fully up to speed when the new adaptation launches – without having to scroll through old trailers or wikis first.
