Joe Manganiello reportedly wanted the role of Jack Reacher at Amazon — but it didn't work out. According to Page Six, his team immediately has a suspicion of who might have prevented the casting: Tom Cruise.
The US gossip portal cites sources from Manganiello's circle. The accusation: Cruise ensured behind the scenes that Manganiello didn't get the part. This is unproven — it remains a suspicion, supported by anonymous sources.
What's behind the suspicion?
What makes the matter spicy: Cruise briefly dated Sofia Vergara in 2005. Vergara was Manganiello's then-wife. Whether this old romantic entanglement actually plays a role in a current casting decision, no one outside the involved camps knows.
What this means for you: For now, the story lives only from an anonymous source at Page Six. How much Hollywood gossip and how much real production background is in the report will become clear if one of the involved parties speaks up.
