PS5 with Jailbreak now streams Xbox games via cloud

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents PS5 with Jailbreak now streams Xbox games via cloud.

You know the tribal thinking: PlayStation vs. Xbox, each console its own garden. What a Brazilian developer has now got running on a hacked PS5 breaks through this logic – Xbox games, via cloud streaming, no Microsoft hardware.

The tool is called PSBox Cloud Gaming and is an application that makes Xbox Cloud Gaming accessible on a jailbroken PS5. In concrete terms: anyone who has freed their console from factory protection can use Microsoft's streaming service on Sony hardware – a scenario that was never officially intended.

Who's behind the project?

Behind PSBox Cloud Gaming stands a Brazilian developer. The most exciting detail of the story: he programmed the app in part with the help of the AI Claude. It shows how deeply AI assistants are now embedded even in niche projects of the homebrew scene – a Brazilian tinkerer, an AI helper, a cloud service, three worlds collide.

What this means for you

If you already have a jailbroken PS5, PSBox Cloud Gaming opens up the Xbox catalog right on your own console. Handy if you don't want to buy a second piece of hardware and already use an Xbox account.

Important: It remains a homebrew tool on a modified console. Sony doesn't support it, and the jailbreak can jeopardize your PS5's warranty and security. Anyone who modifies their console is operating outside the terms of use – you bear that risk yourself.
