Redo and the XXL Teddy: The Truth About Kate Merlan

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Redo and the XXL Teddy: The Truth About Kate Merlan.

Plush bear alert on Promi Big Brother: René "Redo" Dost (57) moved into the container this season with an oversized teddy — and sparked days of speculation about reality star Kate Merlan (39). In the end, it was apparently just an internet brush fire that the cult restaurateur has now put out himself.

How the XXL Teddy became a rumor

Redo lugged the giant plush toy onto the show and took it back home on the eleventh day following his eviction. Online, one particular interpretation quickly gained traction: Was the bear meant as a hidden love message to Kate Merlan? The parallel seemed obvious to many — after all, the 39-year-old only refers to her new partner as "Teddy" and has yet to show his face, instead exclusively featuring him in a bear costume. A plush toy in the container plus a "Teddy" in her private life? For many fans online, the supposed connection was already made.

Redo clears the air: no hint about Kate

At a press conference, the cult restaurateur has now debunked the speculation, according to Promiflash: there's no hidden reference to Kate behind the plush companion, nor any message about her relationship. What was it instead? According to OK Magazin, the teddy is supposedly "a childhood memory." Neither source provides any concrete details about this explanation.

According to this, there's neither a hidden hint about Kate nor any message about her relationship behind his eye-catching XXL teddy.

What remains of the "Teddy" mystery

For you, that means: the most charming side story of the current Promi Big Brother season is off the table for now. Kate continues to keep her new partner's identity strictly under wraps — and Redo's plush companion was, in the end, exactly what it always was: a stuffed animal. How the rumor ever gained so much momentum practically explains itself. Kate's bear costume mystery has been a talking point for weeks, Redo carries an XXL bear into the container — and suddenly the internet is reading hidden love messages into everything. In the end, it's a nice anecdote from this season — and for Kate, a closely guarded secret about her real "Teddy" still stands.
