TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents "The Julia Set": Sony Pictures Classics signs Chase Infiniti after TIFF premiere.

After its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the rights to "The Julia Set" starring Chase Infiniti. The film marks the directorial debut of writer-director Niki Byrne and, according to matching reports from Variety and Deadline, ranks among the breakout titles of the festival — above all for Infiniti's lead performance.

What the film is about – and who stars alongside Infiniti

"The Julia Set" tells the story of a young math genius and is categorized by Deadline as a college drama. Alongside Infiniti, Jason Isaacs and Gillian Anderson co-star. On the deal, the industry trade publications agree: according to Deadline, Sony Pictures Classics acquired the U.S. rights as well as key international markets, while The Hollywood Reporter speaks of a deal covering U.S. and international territories — both point to broad but not all-encompassing licensing. None of the three sources discloses a specific purchase price.

What "The Julia Set" means for Infiniti's career

For Chase Infiniti, "The Julia Set" is, according to Variety and Deadline, the next major screen role following the multi-Oscar-winning "One Battle After Another" and the series "The Testaments." Variety points to consistently positive reviews, and per Deadline the film currently sits at 70 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. A U.S. theatrical release date has not yet been set.
