Hitman: Absolution for Switch 2: Full Game Confirmed on Cartridge

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Hitman: Absolution for Switch 2: Full Game Confirmed on Cartridge.

On October 22, Hitman: Absolution launches for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendoros lists US$39.99 / £24.99 / €29.99. For anyone looking for a physical Switch 2 edition, the announcement brings another concrete detail: Limited Run Games has announced a cartridge edition.

Absolution Is Officially Confirmed as a Native Switch 2 Version

The title had already surfaced as the next native version for Nintendo Switch 2 following a recently published listing. Now the edition is official. Nintendoros explicitly refers to another edition of the Hitman franchise coming to Switch 2.

That makes the announcement easy to place: Absolution is coming as a separate franchise title for Switch 2, rather than merely being mentioned as a possible port. The announced release date and prices refer to this native version.

Limited Run Games Goes With the Complete Cartridge

Limited Run Games has announced the physical edition. According to Nintendoros, the cartridge contains the complete game. That is the decisive answer to the format question: The confirmed physical version is not designed as a mere case or download code, but as a storage medium containing the complete game.

The cartridge is also set to cover both Switch generations. You can use it to play the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 version as well as the edition for the original Nintendo Switch model. The announcement does not specify what additional technical or content differences exist between the two versions.

World of Assassination Is a Different Hitman Package

Hitman: World of Assassination has already been released for Nintendo Switch 2. This existing edition bundles the best of Hitman, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3. According to Nintendoros, it includes the main campaign, contract mode and escalations, along with additional content. The editorial team had already analyzed the game.

The new announcement does not concern this compilation. Absolution is listed as another franchise title and as a separate native Switch 2 version. Anyone who has been considering the World of Assassination edition should therefore keep the two products separate: The content overview with campaigns, contracts and escalations belongs to World of Assassination, while the confirmed physical new release concerns Absolution.

October 22 Is the Release Date, October 30, 2026 Is the Preorder Date

The two dates concern different steps. For the game launch, Nintendoros gives October 22 and prices of US$39.99, £24.99 and €29.99. Preorders for the physical edition announced by Limited Run Games open at Limited Run Games on October 30, 2026.

Thus the release and format are settled: Absolution launches natively for Switch 2, and the announced cartridge contains the complete game for Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch. You can find the exact preorder process in the linked original article by Nintendoros.
