In the middle of a mass in Ecuador, a large wooden cross crashes down onto a priest. Those present scream as the service is broadcast live online, according to Stern and Focus. Die Zeit is also reporting on the incident.
According to the reports, the accident happens in the middle of the service. The cross falls onto the clergyman for reasons that remain unclear so far. How the priest is doing after the impact does not emerge from the available reports â the three available sources also do not specify the location, time, or denomination.
What is certain from the currently available reports is only what eyewitnesses see in the livestream: A heavy wooden cross apparently loses its hold, tips onto the priest, and the people in the room react with screams. Whether the clergyman was injured and how severely remains unclear as of now.
