Alba Berlin has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Basketball Cup. The Berliners prevailed against defending champions Bamberg and will face Phoenix Hagen in the next round.
For a long time, Alba trailed the defending champions. But with a strong final push, the Berliners turned the game around, reports the Tagesspiegel.
Comeback against defending champions Bamberg
What early on looked like a clear-cut affair for the favorite turned into a thriller for Alba. Bamberg, who entered the game as defending champions, controlled proceedings for a long time and led. Only in the final period did the Berliners find their rhythm again and fought their way back point by point. In the end, it was enough for a victory in a game that had at times seemed lost.
Next opponent: Phoenix Hagen
Phoenix Hagen now awaits the Berliners in the quarterfinals. The available reports do not state when the game will take place.
