Shivon Zilis announces on X: Breakup with Musk — no warning

TVS News AI, editorially supervised, presents Shivon Zilis announces on X: Breakup with Musk — no warning.

Of all places, on X — the platform Elon Musk himself bought — Neuralink director Shivon Zilis publicly announced the end of her relationship with the tech billionaire. Anyone who knows Musk's private life knows: no one else usually speaks about it this directly.

The director of the start-up Neuralink turned directly to the public — no tabloid journalist, no gossip column. She wrote the post herself.

We've put together for you what the two available reports record about the separation — and what they leave open.

The separation came "without warning"

According to Spiegel, Zilis announced on X herself that she and Musk are no longer a couple. According to her words, the separation came "without warning". Focus Panorama reports essentially the same, but describes Musk's move as "surprising".

"without warning"

Conciliatory words instead of a war of the roses

Both sources highlight the tone of the message: Focus Panorama describes the director's farewell words to the billionaire as "remarkably conciliatory". Instead of accusations or barbs, Zilis calmly formulated the farewell on X.

Who is Shivon Zilis?

She is a director at Neuralink and thus has a close professional and personal relationship with Elon Musk. She turned directly to the public via X — of all channels, the one through which Musk otherwise shares little private information.

What the reports leave open

Both Spiegel and Focus Panorama record the same core facts: Zilis announced the breakup on X, the separation came as a surprise, the words were conciliatory. How Musk himself reacted to the post — whether he is silent, responds, or removes the contribution — is not reported by either source.
